Hawick lies in
the Scottish Borders, an area known for its hills and natural
beauty; in the Borders you are never more than 30 minutes'
walk away from the countryside.
Traditionally associated with cashmere production and other fine
knitwear, the economy of the Borders has now diversified into electronics,
and other cutting-edge industries.

A less energetic scene from the town's Wilton Lodge Park, the largest
park in the Borders. This is Hawick Museum and Art Gallery, a
superb old building which nonetheless houses fresh and up-to-the-minute
exhibitions

Even Hawick people will have to do a double-take on
this photo!
